About the Role
In this role, you’ll be a senior CE/CV investigator within the customer’s Personnel Security Division, handling complex, high-impact cases. You’ll manage the full investigative lifecycle—from data collection and interviews to Reports of Investigation (ROIs) and coordination with adjudications—while working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Document, file, update, and maintain all investigative actions in PeopleSoft and SharePoint security systems of record.
Collect, research, investigate, and resolve security concerns in accordance with Federal Investigative Standards (FIS) Expandable Focused Investigation (EFI) Module.
Complete high-quality Reports of Investigation (ROIs) with an error rate not to exceed 5%, and forward all relevant information to the Adjudications Branch within established division timelines.
Collaborate, coordinate, and share information with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Office of the Inspector General, Counter Insider Threat, Counterintelligence, General Counsel, Human Development), and others as directed by leadership.
Collect and develop information from a variety of sources, following up as needed to ensure timely action on all CE/CV events.
Produce ROIs that are accurate, detailed, succinct, and well organized, consistently meeting quality standards.
Coordinate with sources to resolve missing or discrepant information, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail when reconciling data.
Prepare all applicable filer notifications related to program-directed self-disclosure requirements at intervals specified by the program.
Investigate and process CE/CV cases within the timelines designated by the Team Lead for each filing season.
Accurately assess the 13 adjudicative guidelines/areas of concern in line with FIS EFI, new Federal Personnel Vetting Investigative Standards, and SEAD 3, 4, and 6.
What You Bring (Required)
7–10 years of personnel security background investigation experience.
Comprehensive interview skills to detect anomalies, pursue issue resolution, and obtain coverage for developed information.
Clear and concise writing skills—especially for investigative narratives and ROIs.
Positive, engaging communication style with subjects, colleagues, and leadership.
Excellent organizational skills to consistently meet timelines tied to the new Federal Personnel Vetting Investigative Standards, current FIS, and EFI requirements.
Bonus Points (Desired)
Federal Background Investigator Training Program (FBITP) certification.
General Investigator (GS-1810 series) certification.
