Help protect the people behind the mission. We’re seeking a Security Specialist (Automated Records Check – ARC) to support our customer’s Personnel Security (PERSEC) program and keep trusted workforce decisions informed, accurate, and on time.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be a key player on the PERSEC & Case Initiation Team, supporting automated records checks, personnel security case work, and reporting for a high-visibility national security customer. You’ll combine hands-on work in security systems of record with analytical review of investigation data and ARC events.
What You’ll Do
Support and maintain established PERSEC programs and processes for our customer.
Help execute the day-to-day operations of the customer’s PERSEC & Case Initiation Team.
Prepare, support, and administer PERSEC briefings and program updates as needed.
Draft, write, and present reports, whitepapers, and official correspondence.
Brief program leadership and key customer stakeholders on requirements, regulations, and program status.
Maintain and update databases and files (e.g., PeopleSoft security system of record, SharePoint pages, internal file folders, DISS, RapBack, etc.) with timely and accurate data entry.
Respond promptly to phone and email inquiries, including checks of internal and external personnel security databases.
Help maintain PERSEC distribution lists and contact channels for internal and external customers.
Elevate case-related security issues to Government Team Leads and support recommendations for process improvement.
Provide customer-focused guidance and issue resolution to internal and external stakeholders.
Apply a variety of security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and resolve complex personnel security issues.
Prepare and submit Weekly Activity Reports (WARs) and maintain complete documentation in systems of record (e.g., PeopleSoft, DISS, RapBack).
Ensure actions are completed within mandated timelines (e.g., IRTPA, DNI requirements).
Collect, investigate, research, document, and forward adjudicatively relevant information from ARC events to adjudications in required timelines.
Track and follow up on ARC events to ensure timely action and closure.
Prepare accurate investigative reports and submit required documentation to applicable databases so ARCs are completed in less than 30 days.
Prepare ARC reports using established templates, upload to ePSF, and annotate actions in PeopleSoft or other databases of record.
Conduct and support Special Agency Checks (SACs) for spouses or cohabitants and document actions in applicable systems.
What You Bring (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field to personnel security, or equivalent experience.
3–6 years of personnel security experience within the DoD and/or Intelligence Community.
Demonstrated experience reviewing Standard Forms SF-85/SF-86 and applying appropriate scoping requirements.
Ability to understand and analyze data from personnel security repositories such as JPAS/DISS, Scattered Castles, DCSA’s NP2 Portal, eQIP, PIPS/CVS, SAVE, TIDE, NCIC, and FBI Name Check.
Bonus Points (Desired)
Experience determining whether electronic fingerprint results are classifiable.
Understanding of the PII requirements and data needed to complete Special Agency Checks (SACs) for spouses or cohabitants.
