We’re looking for an experienced Physical Security Specialist to support our customer by leading SCIF and collateral area security across CONUS and OCONUS locations.
What You’ll Do
Lead the full lifecycle of SCIF and collateral areas – from concept and construction through accreditation, operations, and final decommissioning.
Ensure facilities meet DoD and IC standards (ICD 705, NISPOM, CNSS, DoD information and SCI policies) for safeguarding SCI and collateral classified information.
Conduct and oversee SCIF inspections and risk assessments, generating Fixed Facility Checklists, inspection reports, and accreditation documentation.
Manage keys, locks, GSA containers, and alarm testing/maintenance in line with DoD and IC requirements.
Serve as a primary liaison with the customer, DoD, IC partners, and industry, translating policy into practical, mission-ready security solutions.
Maintain and use security databases and tools (e.g., IC SCIF database, the customer’s PeopleSoft database, and local tracking tools) and keep records complete, current, and audit-ready.
Develop and deliver physical security briefings and training to non-security personnel, boosting awareness and compliance across the enterprise.
Prepare and review trip reports, threat assessments, metrics, and weekly activity reports that drive data-backed decision making.
Support policy and SOP development, instructional materials, and other awareness products to strengthen the customer’s Physical Security Program(s).
Travel to government and industrial sites worldwide to inspect construction, renovations, and leased facilities, validate requirements, and recommend cost-effective security solutions.
What You Bring (Required)
5+ years of experience in the physical security field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (presentations, spreadsheets, documents, SharePoint, etc.).
Experience delivering security briefings/training to non-security audiences.
Ability to sustain prolonged standing, walking, and climbing during inspections and site walks.
Nice to Have
Experience generating and interpreting security metrics for leadership.
Relevant certifications, such as:
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Physical Security Certification (PSC)
- ASIS certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP)
- ICD 705 SCIF-related courses (government or commercial)
Basic knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
Familiarity with the DoD Key and Lock Program, including safes for classified storage.
Experience in other security disciplines (industrial, information, personnel, etc.).
Prior work as a Construction Security Monitor.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
